Love to line

Kylie Jenner. Was the first thing that came to mind lip liner? Probably! This young trend setter has bought the lip pencil back in to beauty fashion in a big way. Everyone and their mother is clambering to MAC to get their hands on the coveted soar lip liner.

Personally I never saw the need for lip liner, I was never keen on the drawn on lip look! But then I realised the benefits of lip liners and I'm hooked! Personally I like to use them to fill in my entire lips and then either apply a lipstick or gloss over the top. If I use lipstick I find it has much better staying power and if I use lipgloss once the shine has faded I'm left with a pretty matte stain. Im a true lip liner convert and I've been picking up a few over the last couple of weeks to share my thoughts with you on. My top 4 favourites are as follows:

1. MAC - dervish -  a lovely, soft, natural looking pink which can either warm up a nude lipstick or tone down a bright gloss.

2. Revlon - Plum - A gorgeous, season appropriate dark purple. The perfect partner to a plum lip such as MAC Plumful or Syrup or I have been pairing it with Clinique black honey lipgloss. Its non-drying and seriously pigmented.

3. Kiko - No.19 - Coral in winter? Trust me, its the best way to brighten dull, tired looking skin. This lip pencil packs a big punch while being creamy and hydrating on the lips.

4. Urban Decay - Turn On - Recommended by Essie Button. Need I say more? A great dark pink perfect for this time of year. I like to wear this shade alone but its great topped with a neutral pink gloss such as a Clarins instant light natural lip perfector.

These are my top picks of the moment but I can sense a lip liner obsession coming on so check back soon as I'm sure I'll be adding to my collection. Let me know which lip liner you're loving at the moment!
